Landscaping Rockingham, Baldivis & the southern suburbs

The City of Rockingham is home to 135,000 people across 37 km of coast and some of the fastest-growing suburbs in WA. Baldivis alone has gone from market gardens to nearly 38,000 residents in two decades, and Golden Bay, Secret Harbour, Karnup and Singleton are still releasing lots. That means a steady stream of raw sand blocks needing levels, retaining, retic, turf and front-yard covenants met on time.

West of the freeway the ground is undulating sand and limestone; east of it, around rural Baldivis and Karnup, it flattens into sand over clay with winter-wet patches. Older beachside suburbs — Safety Bay, Shoalwater, Rockingham itself, Waikiki, Warnbro — are mostly renovation work: replacing tired lawns, rebuilding failing timber retaining with limestone, and converting thirsty gardens to waterwise.
